Solon Road Baptist Church:

Churches Merge in Waxahachie

On March 17, 2019 Solon Road Baptist Church and Lighthouse Baptist Church merged. Lighthouse, pastored by James Worley, was praying for a larger place to meet. Solon Road, pastored by Robert Lewis, was praying for laborers. Both churches were about the same size when they merged. Since the merger, the morning attendance on Sunday is right around fifty. There were sixty in attendance on Resurrection Sunday. Five young people were baptized on that day. The church still has Sunday and Wednesday Evening services. The two churches merged their money, their missionaries, and their manpower. They are continuing to meet at 404 Solon Road and have retained the name of Solon Road Baptist Church. The church is doing very well. Two weeks ago, a man was restored in fellowship after two years of absence. Missionaries come to visit with the church regularly. The missions giving is growing steadily. The prayers of both churches have been answered in a wonderful way.
